Arati Kadav

Arati Kadav is an award-winning Mumbai-based writer-director who trained as a computer science engineer and worked as a software developer in the US before pivoting to filmmaking at Whistling Woods International. She has made six short films, including Astronaut And His Parrot, which won Best Director and Audience Choice at Fantasia. Her debut feature, Cargo (2019), a sci-fi drama on life, death and reincarnation, screened at 27 festivals including SXSW and won Best Sci-Fi Feature at Miami's Sci-Fi Film Festival; it's now on Netflix. Her second feature, Mrs (2023), premiered at Tallinn Black Nights and became a cultural phenomenon in India. She also founded ShortFilmWindow, a curated portal for short films worldwide.
